About Kerri Caviezel
Bio here Kerri Caviezel grew up in a small timber community in the Pacific Northwest that has been home to her extended family for over 120 years. This stable, tiny little community provided the backdrop for a life that centered on faith and family. Every child should be so fortunate to have extended family close by and siblings with whom they can share their world. Basketball was her first love for 14 years. Kerri was fortunate to be a part of two state championship teams; be named First-team All-State in high school; start for four years in College and recently be named to Western Washington University’s Hall of Fame.
Beyond basketball, education was a natural outlet for sharing her passion for young people. After receiving the honor for the Outstanding Graduating Student in Elementary Education and being asked to give the student address at graduation, Kerri entered the teaching profession. Teaching was never a job. Rather, it was a mission. Kerri took her passion for teaching and coaching and continued to work with teenagers and young mothers through her involvement with the Pregnancy Counseling Center. This pro-life work along with adoption advocacy has become her life-long mission.
This 24-year journey, as a national and international speaker, has enabled Kerri the opportunity to speak at World Youth Day in Cologne, Germany in 2005, the Eucharistic Congress in Atlanta and North Carolina, various pro-life conferences around the country, as well as appearing on EWTN’s “Life on the Rock” to promote a message of faith, hope, love and a belief in life as the greatest God-given gift of all.
Kerri has been married to her husband, Jim, for 24 years and her most important job is as a mother to three adopted children; Bo, Lyn, and David. What a blessing it has been for her to visit over 30 states and 20 countries. The best part has been the opportunity to meet men and women; such as Saint Pope John Paul II, Reverend Billy Graham, Mother Angelica, and Coach John Wooden. These four pillars among others have left Kerri with an indelible impression that serving others is the most important legacy that you can leave the world.
